I think we just started a cult.

Hello!

We had our very first Voice Cult meeting on April 15th, 2017. (though on that day it was called Voice Church.) The room was hushed and candlelit, our altar sparkled with disco balls and blue cow skulls and my fave Hildegard score, and we got the sage and Palo Santo going full blast. We didn’t know what the hell we were doing but it made us laugh.  The service was beautiful, more than a little weird, and made us sure of one thing: this community needs to sing.  Now.  We asked for your suggestions and received some great ones: you guys wanna do Circlesinging.  You wanna do arrangements of pop songs.  You wanna sing rounds, and harmonies, and warrior chants, and do a lot more Pauline Oliveros exercises. You want the chairs to be arranged in a circle for more of the service. Cool.  We will.  We love the idea of members of our community coming forward to teach types or styles of group singing that have healed us. If you wanna share, there’s a place for you.
